Fuel cost calculator

Litres, average consumption and trip or commute cost. Saved vehicles from profile and current prices when available.

Methodology

  • Litres = (km × L/100 km) / 100
  • Cost = litres × price per litre (or kWh for EV)
  • Commute: one-way × 2 (if round-trip) × days/week × ~4.33 weeks

Assumptions

Real consumption depends on driving style, traffic and load. Fuel prices are indicative.

Control: 150 km × 7.5 L/100 km × €1.35/L → €15.19

How fuel cost is calculated

Litres = (km × L/100 km) / 100; cost = litres × price per litre.

Control example: 150 km × 7.5 L/100 km × €1.35/L = €15.19.

Estimate only: consumption × distance × price (plus optional tolls). Real cost depends on the car, driving style, and road conditions.

Assumptions:

  • Formulalitres = (L/100 km × km) / 100; cost = litres × price/L
  • BNB — FX ratesWhen amounts are shown in EUR/BGN

Frequently Asked Questions

How is fuel consumption per 100 km calculated?

Consumption in l/100 km is the litres used to drive 100 kilometres. Example: 40 litres over 500 km → (40 ÷ 500) × 100 = 8 l/100 km. Enter that figure with distance and price per litre in the calculator.

How do I calculate the cost of a trip?

Litres needed = (distance ÷ 100) × consumption. Trip cost = litres × price per litre. For a return trip, distance is doubled first. The tool also shows cost per km and cost per 100 km for easy comparisons.

How many litres of fuel will I need?

Litres = (km ÷ 100) × l/100 km. Example: 320 km at 6.5 l/100 km → 20.8 litres. Use the quick calculator with your distance and average consumption to see litres instantly.

How much does Sofia–Varna fuel cost?

Sofia–Varna is about 450 km one way (~900 km return). Pick the quick route, enter your l/100 km and pump price to see litres, €/km and total cost. Actual distance varies by road and traffic.

How do I estimate monthly commuting fuel cost?

Use commute mode: enter one-way distance, workdays per week, consumption and price. The calculator multiplies round-trip × days × ~4.33 weeks for monthly kilometres and fuel-only cost—useful for a household budget.

Petrol, diesel or LPG — which is cheaper for the same trip?

Compare price per litre × litres needed for the same kilometres. Open the fuel comparison in the quick calculator and adjust pump prices. Remember diesel/LPG often have different real l/100 km than petrol—use your trip-computer averages when possible.
